What this service is
Markupbird is software. We are the vendor: you buy the subscription from Ellul Solutions Ltd directly, and there is no third party between us. We introduce you to nobody, we sell your details to nobody, and we take no commission from anyone for sending you anywhere. We aim to keep the service available at all times and to keep your data recoverable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. If we plan work that will take the service offline we tell subscribers first. You can export your customers, estimates and jobs at any time while your subscription is active and for 90 days after it ends.
How we are paid
You pay us, and that is the whole of how this business is funded: a monthly subscription to Markupbird Pro, sold to businesses. Nothing on this site is an advertisement we are paid for, no lead is sold, and no figure or recommendation here is influenced by a commission, because there is none. Price, renewal date and cancellation route are shown before you pay and stated again in your account. Purchase is offered to people acting for purposes related to their trade or profession. Where a consumer nonetheless buys, the statutory cancellation and digital content rights are honoured in full rather than excluded.
Online payments. When you connect your own Stripe account and take a payment through a pay link, Markupbird charges a platform fee of 1% of that payment, in addition to Stripe's own processing fee. Stripe deducts both from the payment before it is paid out to you; Markupbird never holds your customers' money. The rate that applies is the one shown in your account on the day the pay link is created, and a change to it applies only to links created afterwards.
The free tools
The free tools on this site are provided as working tools for people who price jobs for a living. Their output is arithmetic on the figures you enter, plus the published pay figure cited on the page. They do not replace your own takeoff, your supplier's quote, your accountant's treatment of overhead, or your own judgement about a job.
No warranty
Nothing on this site is accounting, tax or legal advice, and no figure on it is a price for any job. The pay figure quoted is the published figure on the date cited; the takeoff, rates, overhead and markup are yours, and an estimate priced here is a number for the contractor to check against the supplier's quote and the site before it is handed to a customer. Templates are starting points, not a contract.
